RAMAYANA TRAIL - 04 NIGHTS / 05 DAYS SRILANKA TOUR

Day 01: AIRPORT / COLOMBO - (Dinner)

After breakfast leave for Dambulla via Chilaw.

Start by visiting the Panchamuga Anjaneyer Temple - the only Temple in the world to have a Chariot for Anjaneyer (Hanuman)

Proceed to Kelaniya to visit the Temple in veneration of Vibhishana - located in the premises of the Kelaniya Temple constructed at the place blessed personally by the Lord Buddha during his third visit to Sri Lanka who became the King of Lanka after the demise of King Rawana and is still considered as one of the four Guardian Deities of Sri Lanka.

Leave for Chilaw

En route visit the Manavari Temple - where the first lingam was installed in Sri Lanka by Lord Rama on the advice of God Shiva - still called Ramalinga Shivam.

Then visit the Munneswaram Temple - situated at the place where Lord Rama felt that the bramhaasthi dosham which was following him when he was returning to India in King Rawana's Vimana after the victorious battle with King Rawana who was a Brahmin- was no longer there - where he prayed God Shiva who in turn advised him to install and prey four lingams at Manavari in Chilaw, Thirukoneswarm in Trincomalee, Thiruketheswaram in Mannar and Rameshwaram in India

Proceed to Dambulla via Wariyapola in Kurunegala Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel, Dambulla.

Day 03: Dambulla / Kandy - (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

After Breakfast leave for the place where the "City of Lankapura͟ is thought to be and witness.

Dunuwila, where Lord Rama had fired the brahmastharama at King Rawana, which had eventually killed him.

Lakegala, the highest point in the area from where an eye was kept of approaching forces of Lord Rama.

Weragantota - which was thought to be another Airports of King Rawana.

Gurulupotha, where the Aircraft Repair Shop was located.

Sita Kotuwa, where the remains of Queen Mandodari's Palace where Sita was initially Imprisoned.

Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel, Kandy.

Day 04: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya / Kandy - (Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

After early breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya and visit. Ashok Vatika - the main place where Seetha was kept in hiding and the Sita Amman Temple - which is dedicated to all major characters Sita , Rama , Lakshman and Hanuman where the differently sized foot marks prove the immense powers of Hanuman passing through Sita Eliya where she was allowed to live a free life.

Also visit the Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple which has Hanuman as the presiding deity where rituals are made on full moon days. This is thought to be the place where Hanuman was searching for Sita Devi.

Return to Kandy.

Visit the City of Kandy.

In the evening visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha , by far the most worshipped place for Buddhists world over.

Overnight stay and dinner at the Hotel, Kandy.

Day 05: Kandy / Airport - (Breakfast)

Free and easy

Transfer to the Airport for departure
